Fords (Still) on a Mission, Part 2

A few days after we moved to our new home in Goodlettsville, Judah was riding in the car with Jason while running some errands. \”Dad,\” he said, \”I think we should name our new house.\”

Jason asked what Judah thought the name should be. Judah paused to reflect, with a seriousness not normally seen in a five year-old. \”Nashville\’s House of Glory,\” he said finally.

I do not think I had ever heard Judah use the word \”glory\” before then. I am certain I had never heard him or anyone else mention naming a house, at least not in a way that would register in such a way with him.

I am believing that Judah\’s house name is somehow prophetic. We moved here out of a desire to take the next right step of obedience, though not entirely sure what the future would hold for our place in the Kingdom. Since settling in, though, we have experienced open doors of ministry, an increase in relationship-building with people who resonate with anointing and vision, and Spirit-led encounters which can only be described as divine. God is moving us in new directions and stretching our understandings of the Kingdom.

As a family, we have taken two trips on prayer assignment: first, to Memphis in order to pray onsite at two strategic locations. Secondly, we went to Washington, D.C.. for the kickoff of David\’s Tent, which will run from September 11th of this year until Election Day, November 6th, of next year. We felt that it was  important to be there to add our voices in support and prayer as the tent launched, and we plan to return for another weekend before the end of the year. We had the opportunity while there to tour the Bible Museum, currently under construction, as well as meet Dick Eastman and learn more about a prayer initiative for Washington which targets specific points of prayer around the city. It is amazing what God can do in a weekend!

Jason has been honored to speak and minister in many locations around the Middle Tennessee area, from home churches to city-wide revivals. These opportunities are always a blessing for him, as he enjoys being able to share what God is doing and saying to him. Additionally, he is working again to bring 24/7 worship and prayer to Bonnaroo 2016. Plans are being made now to bring RooHOP closer to the festival grounds, allowing for greater exposure of worship and the chance to minister to more festival-goers.

Amy\’s primary focus in this season has been settling into home educating Judah (and Anna June, to some extent) while making preparations for the baby. We feel this in itself is a mission! Amy has been working to make connections with other homeschooling families in the area and adjust (maybe re-adjust) to this area. We are thankful for the freedom to homeschool so we can come and go as God calls us, staying together as a family and exposing our children to culture, history, and most importantly, Jesus working through it all.

There are some ways you can pray with us for these next few months. First, we have a passion to see the college campuses in the area with life-giving Christian groups, and to see those groups connected, trained, and supported. We are praying for how this passion will translate into a vision and plan. We would also love to find a way to impact the high schools in the area in a similar way. Finally, we want to continue following the path God has ordained; we need discerning spirits to know what is good and what is God. Would you agree with us in these areas?

It seems we are on a mission still, establishing a house of glory, with His grace. Let us see how this house will be built.
