Autumn Update

The onset of fall is such a welcome change in Middle Tennessee, and with it there are so many spiritually significant times. While we honor the Jewish holy days of Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot, celebrate the Lord\’s provision with Thanksgiving, prepare our hearts for the arrival of our Savior with Advent, we also acknowledge the heightened activity of the dark spiritual realm and the demonic during their \”sacred\” season. Scripture calls us to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves, and to be neither foolish nor fearful about spiritual warfare. This is a time when worship and intercession are elemental to the individual and corporate Body of Christ.

We have been in a time of increased focus on prayer, worship, and the prophetic this season. Jason has recently spoken to students at Provision International\’s Thunder School about the importance of keeping the fire on the altar. A priest of the Lord lives to keep the flames going, fueled and fed, constant before God. We can only keep the fire inside us burning if it is fueled by The Word, fed in prayer, and constant in praise and worship. We are called to be a royal priesthood, and each of us is responsible to God for the fire He has given us.

In step with keeping the fire burning, Jason has been working with a few others with the Nashville House of Prayer to renew consistent weekly meetings at The Cookery. The goal is to build the fire of this gathering to increase hours and days every week.

With regard to worship, plans continue to develop for RooHOP 2016, which will involve 100 hours of continuous worship, with prayer throughout. Please let us know if you are interested in participating. We also hope to make another trip to David\’s Tent DC before the end of the year. This is an incredible endeavor to keep 24/7 worship on the National Mall until Election Day next year! They are always looking for volunteer staff and worship leaders, so please contact us for more information.

We also had the honor of going, as a family, to minister in Charlotte, NC at the Encounter Prayer and Worship Center. The Benton family welcomed us into their home, and Jason was privileged to speak at a Sunday morning service, bringing a word about the church from Ezekiel.

Lastly, we spent the night of October 31st at the Red River Meeting House in Adairville, KY at an event called \”Light the Night.\” Worship and intercession continued for six hours on the historic grounds where the Second Great Awakening is said to have begun. We prayed for a renewal of the revival started there, standing in agreement with many of the original revival\’s participants whose graves stand on the grounds. It was certainly a holy moment in time.

As we move into the holiday season, you can pray with us in the following ways: Firstly, as I mentioned above, we would like to make it back to David\’s Tent once more before the year is over. However, it is a busy time of year, and Amy is more uncomfortably pregnant with each passing week. Please pray God opens a door for us to go, and that Amy has the grace to make the trip, or to stay back with the kids. Also, we are entering another season of transition as Jason\’s parents move out of the house after Christmas and we prepare for the arrival of baby Seraphina. Please pray for ease with all the moving and organizing that must be done before the baby arrives and for joy and peace with the entire family in the weeks after her arrival.

We are thankful for you, our family in Christ. May this be a time of great joy, gratitude, and expectation for you and yours.
